Wir machten uns gegen Abend auf den Weg Richtung Gantrisch. Zwischen Riffenmatt und Seelital liegt die Schutzhütte an der Strasse. Von da an geht ein wunderbarer Weg auf den Gägger und via Grat zur Pfyffe.
Hier oben war richtige Winterstimmung, 1° und Schnee.
Auszug Internet:Der Gäggersteg, auf 1600 Meter über Meer gelegen, ist der ideale Ausflugsort für Naturbegeisterte. Der Jahrhundertsturm Lothar zerstörte Ende 1999 den Wald am Gägger fast vollständig. Die 12 Hektaren grosse Waldfläche am Gägger als Waldreservat ausgeschieden und die Waldentwicklung somit vollständig der Natur überlassen. Der Rundgang auf dem Gäggersteg führt auf unterschiedlichen Höhen über das geworfene Sturmholz. 
Mit prächtiger Sicht auf die Gantrischkette und interessantem Blick auf die aufkeimende Natur kann der Besucher die natürliche Entwicklung dieser Sturmschadenfläche hautnah miterleben. Für den Rundgang sind rund 1 ½ Stunden einzuplanen.
